Mann Collection

The Mann Collection represents a lifetime of vision, passion, and dedication to Canadian art. At its heart is John Mann, a devoted collector, philanthropist, and cultural leader whose enthusiasm for the arts shaped not only his personal collection but also the cultural landscape of Niagara and beyond.

For over six decades, John Mann along with his wife June built an exceptional collection of Canadian art, focusing on key movements and artists that define the nation’s artistic heritage. His collection includes works by members of Les Automatistes, Painters Eleven, and artists associated with the Isaacs Gallery, reflecting his deep understanding of modern and contemporary art.

In 2019, John Mann brought his collection to the public through the John Mann Gallery at the 13th Street Winery in St. Catharines. The gallery, a 6,000 sq ft space complemented by a sculpture garden, showcased both historical and contemporary Canadian works, allowing visitors to experience the vibrancy and innovation of Canadian art firsthand.

Following the passing of June and John Mann in 2024, the Mann Collection has been entrusted to their three daughters. Today, these carefully preserved works are available to collectors through Armstrong Fine Art Consulting, offering a unique opportunity to acquire pieces from one of Canada’s most distinguished private collections.
