R. Ward Shipman is a Canadian visual artist celebrated for his romantically lyrical paintings, expressive drawings, and fine art photography. Educated at McMaster University, the University of Toronto, and OCAD, Shipman received formal training under renowned Canadian artists including Alan J. Scott and George Wallace. His career as Head of Visual Arts for the Hamilton Board of Education reflects a lifelong commitment to art and education. Today, he continues to share his expertise as a drawing instructor at the Dundas Valley School of Art and as a lecturer across Ontario art institutions.
