Taruna Singh
(b. 1974, India | Lives and works in Oakville, Ontario, Canada)

Taruna Singh is an Indian-Canadian mixed media artist whose work explores themes of identity, memory, and transformation through a rich visual language of collage, paint, printmaking, and gestural mark-making. Her art blends cultural references—such as traditional Indian block print motifs—with contemporary abstraction, appealing to collectors who seek emotionally resonant works with conceptual depth and tactile intrigue.

Originally trained in Art and Advertising Design at the New York City College of Technology, Singh began painting in 2020 after a successful design career. Her cross-disciplinary fluency and personal diasporic perspective have shaped a dynamic practice rooted in material exploration, cultural symbolism, and intuitive expression. Her mixed media compositions balance strength and vulnerability, fusing fragmented imagery, organic textures, and layered surfaces that echo histories both personal and collective.

Over the past five years, Singh has exhibited in more than 20 shows across Canada, including a solo exhibition in Hamilton and the Art Gallery of Hamilton Art Sale 2025. Her work is held in public and private collections in Canada, India, the U.S., and the U.K., including St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. As her practice continues to grow, Singh’s art is increasingly recognized for its meditative impact and material richness, resonating with collectors who appreciate contemporary art rooted in personal voice and cultural nuance.
