(b. 1968, Ottawa, Canada | Lives and works in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada)
Brad Eyre is a contemporary Canadian artist whose dynamic abstract paintings explore the tension between chaos and control. Working primarily in acrylic, Eyre begins each piece with an intuitive, gestural application of paint using his hands—allowing organic forms to emerge through movement and pressure. These fluid compositions are then meticulously dissected and reassembled into geometric frameworks, creating a striking visual dialogue between spontaneity and structure.
Based in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Eyre brings over three decades of experience in the cultural sector to his practice. He studied at the University of Toronto and refined his understanding of visual language during his time at the Museo del Prado in Madrid. Eyre has contributed to institutions such as the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, MOCCA (now MOCA Toronto), and the City of Toronto.
His work has been exhibited widely and is held in numerous private collections, attracting collectors who value abstract art that merges emotional immediacy with formal precision. Eyre’s paintings offer not only bold aesthetics but also a deeper narrative about order, chance, and the evolving nature of perception.
