(b. Canada | Lives and works in Thorold, Ontario)
Hannah Holmes is a Canadian contemporary painter whose work explores vibrant everyday moments through a playful, expressive lens. With an academic background spanning mathematics, economics, and political science, Hannah brings a unique blend of analytical structure and creative spontaneity to her artistic practice.
Working primarily in acrylic and pastel, Holmes creates bold, narrative-rich works that balance humour, commentary, and a love of colour. Her art often draws inspiration from familiar objects—coffee cups, donuts, brushes—transformed through dynamic compositions and unexpected visual wit. This aesthetic has earned her recognition in regional juried exhibitions and commissions from high-profile collectors, including musician Robin Zander of Cheap Trick.
A graduate of Brock University’s Studio Arts program, Holmes is a member of the Niagara Artists Centre, Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre, and several regional arts organizations. Her work has been exhibited at the VISA Gallery, Mann Gallery, 13th Street Gallery, and Niagara Artists Centre, among others.
Collectors are drawn to Holmes’ ability to infuse whimsy with sophistication, rendering ordinary subject matter extraordinary. Her distinctive voice and fearless experimentation make her an artist to watch in Niagara’s dynamic art scene.
