(b. 1969, Ottawa | Lives and works in Port Colborne, Ontario)

Robin Nisbet is a Canadian representational artist known for her richly layered landscapes and evocative Canadian scenes. Her work captures the quiet drama of the natural world with confident brushstrokes, immersive texture, and luminous colour. From forested paths to riverside reflections, Nisbet’s paintings offer a contemporary homage to the Canadian landscape tradition, appealing to collectors who seek connection through memory and place.

Robin began painting at the age of 13, when a family friend gifted her lessons after recognizing her artistic interest. She started her career in graphic design before returning to school to earn a BA (Honours) with Distinction from Brock University in 2018. Her professional design background now informs her approach to painting, where strong composition meets expressive mark-making.

Working primarily in acrylic and oil, Robin often paints en plein air or from her own photography, using unconventional tools and mediums to create texture and movement. Her intuitive process results in works that convey peacefulness and nostalgia—moments captured in light and colour.

Robin has exhibited widely across Ontario, including at the Mann Gallery, Assembly Hall in Etobicoke, TAG Art Gallery, and Niagara Artists’ Centre. Her work has also shown at Federation Gallery in Vancouver, and her painted canoe installation was featured at the Welland Museum. Her paintings are held in private collections across Canada, Mexico, England, and Germany.
