 Iman Sherazi
(b.2000, Lima, Peru | Lives and works in Toronto, Canada.)

Iman is a Pakistani, Peruvian, Canadian abstract artist known for her expression of communication narratives through vivid colour palettes. Her work is distinguished by conceptual tooth-based shapes, to represent the process of visual storytelling, appealing to collectors who value striking and abstract representations of intrapersonal communication.

Iman’s early influences come from her grandfather, Askari Mian Irani, a world-renowned artist and one of Pakistan’s most decorated painters. Iman has been inspired by his miniatures and architectural style, leading her to explore micro-perspectives of his works.

Iman began painting at 18, initially motivated to continue her grandfather’s artistic legacy. She started as self-taught and developed a distinct abstract approach rooted in expressionism. Working primarily in oil and acrylic paints, Iman explores intrapersonal and interpersonal communication moments learned through her undergraduate and master's degrees, often using push-and-pull methods to maintain balance in her strokes. Her process is meticulous and experimental, resulting in work that emotionally impacts viewers.

Over a career spanning 5 years, Iman has exhibited at Studio Ciel and Twist Gallery. Her notable highlights include her works being sold and commissioned by collectors across Canada, the United States and New Zealand.

Iman, as an emerging artist, has cultivated a unique style rooted in abstract expression. Through exploring thematic relevance and growth in collector appeal, she continues to evolve her work to grow her identity as a multi-cultural Canadian artist.
