Susan Lott is a Canadian abstract artist whose bold acrylic paintings explore emotional depth through vibrant colour, layered texture, and expressive form. Her work is grounded in a lifelong connection to nature and memory, appealing to collectors who seek art that captures both movement and mood through abstraction.
Raised in Merritton, St. Catharines, Lott’s early exposure to art came from her grandmother, a skilled watercolourist who nurtured her love for painting. A transformative visit to Texas introduced her to her artist cousin, igniting a passion that would shape her creative life. She later returned to Texas frequently to study with mentor Patricia Green, and further developed her craft under the guidance of respected Canadian instructors Ed Telenko, Raymond Martin, and John Leonard at the Haliburton School of Art.
Over the years, Lott has explored various styles and media, but her current focus lies in abstract acrylic painting—a medium she uses to translate the textures and colours of nature into bold, atmospheric compositions. Her process combines traditional brushwork with contemporary experimentation, resulting in work that is both emotionally resonant and visually compelling.
Susan Lott’s paintings have been exhibited throughout the Niagara Region, including the Niagara Pumphouse Art Gallery. Her work has been published in the Physician’s Journal and the Artists in Canada Book, and is held in private and corporate collections in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
