Marianne Fowler’s work explores the quiet complexity of abstract painting through layered stripes and subtle rhythms, inviting viewers into a meditative space of reflection and perception.

Marianne Fowler is a Toronto-based abstract painter whose work bridges the visual language of modernism with the conceptual depth of postmodern art. A graduate of OCAD University (BFA, Drawing and Painting, 2005), Fowler has been exhibiting since 1997 and is represented in numerous corporate and private collections.

Her meditative, stripe-based abstractions invite viewers into a slow, layered experience—one of quiet contemplation and perceptual shift. Through subtle rhythms and repetitions, she constructs visual spaces that allow the eye to ascend, descend, and pause. With each shift in focus, new layers emerge, encouraging reflection through interaction. Fowler’s work is both timeless and timely—rooted in the history of pure abstraction while offering a contemporary format for meaningful visual engagement.
